PAY: Earnings in Arrears
Can Oracle Payroll support/handle earnings in arrears? We will have situations where an employee may have been overpaid and a transaction with negative hours will come in to basically collect the money back.
For example, employee was paid for 40 hours and then we find out they performed unauthorized work (we provide human services and most work requires authorizations for specific functions) of 5 hours. We had paid the person the 40 and now want to process the negative 5 hours the next time they are to be paid.
So if the next pay period they work an authorized 20 hours, we will pay them for 15 (as long as the rates are the same). If they do not work, the 5 hours (and associated amount) stay in arrears until they do get paid.
