Customer Standard form - want to allow update but disable add function

 Is there a way, to disable add customer function in the customer standard form. 

We want users to be able to update an existing customer, but not be able to add a new customer. I was expecting to find a function that allows a user to add a customer, so that I can exclude it from the responsibility. 

Any solution is welcome.
