Installing 10g on AIX 6.

I'm trying to install Oracle 10g on an AIX 6.1 server and it continually hangs - shown below. I'm confident my C++ compiler and Java versions are correct per the metalink article along with the necessary filesets installed on the server. I have run rootpre.sh. I'm exporting the display back to my laptop which works as I'm able to fire up xclock. Out of ideas - any help is appreciated :-)

$ ./runInstaller

Your platform requires the root user to perform certain pre-installation
OS preparation.  The root user should run the shell script 'rootpre.sh' be
fore
you proceed with Oracle installation.  rootpre.sh can be found at the top
