EM setup fails during create 11g database with DBCA

when I create the database with DBCA I recieve an error that EM config failed.  It is instructs me to view the emconfig log which has many errors.  It instructs me to retry emca.bat.  In doing so, will this effect the other databases on the server?  Can anyone direct me to instructs on using emca?
