Problem installing oracle clusterware on RH 4.7 and multipath device

Hello... I am having the following problem while installing clusterware on redhat 4.7... After I create the rawdevices and make sure that hey are writable... and during the execution of the .root.sh script I get the following error...
Setting the permissions on OCR backup directory
Setting up NS directories
Failed to upgrade Oracle Cluster Registry Configuration

I get the following on the logs
