Is it possible to see if a PO shipment has been closed already?

Hi, I wonder if there is a way to identify if an open purchase order shipment has already been in status 'closed' or 'closed for receiving' before.
Reason for this request is: I try to setup an alert that informs buyers in case of 'Return to Vendor' transactions that their already closed POs are now open again.
I dont know how to create my SQL to select only this PO's which have already been closed and are open now.
Thanks for any ideas!
