Delete files/aliases from ASM

I have several databases I created as a test.  I deleted them using DBCA but DBCA indicated it could not start the instances.  Regardless, I complete the delete rountine.  However, the files are still taking up space in my ASM diskgroup.  When I try to remove them in EM, I get this error.

ORA-15032: not all alterations performed ORA-15177: cannot operate on system aliases

Can anyone tell me the best method to remove files/alias from my ASM?
