Increased use of memory after installation of merge patch 5565308 for 9.2.0.4

Anyone experience increased memory use after installation of merge patch 5565308 for 9.2.0.4 to fix IO issues with AIX 5L?

OS memory reduced to only 1.5Gb free with approx.1000 users (approx. 3000 database connections inc. application services & batch jobs) whereas today with the patch deinstalled we're back to 20Gb free with the same number of users/connections.

IBM p-series 570 8-way 96Gb RAM - AIX 5.3.06 - Oracle 9.2.0.4 - OneWorld XE.
