ORA-55616 when inserting records into a Total Recall tracked table

Wondering if anyone out there has had any experience with Total Recall yet.  We are getting ORA-55616 when trying to insert 17,746 records into a table monitored by Total Recall.  This is what Oracle's documentation says about the error:

ORA-55616: Transaction table needs Flashback Archiver processing
Cause: Too many transaction table slots were being taken by transactions on tracked tables.
Action: Wait for some amount of time before doing tracked transactions.

From the wording of this, it appears that the FBDA background process may only have a certain number of "slots" or handles with which to deal with transactions on Total Recall monitored tables, but that's just a guess in my part.  I was wondering if anyone out there has any more details on how the FBDA process works and whether there is any way to tune the volume of transactions that it can handle?  Or, if any of you have even experienced this error, your input would also be welcome.  So far, I haven't found anything on Metalink, Forums, or a
