R12 Canadian Taxation

We currently have Canadian taxation set up and functioning in R12, but I have a couple of questions:

1)  Which date in the OM module is hitting against the effective from date in the regime to rate flow to determine taxation?

      (Is this the ship date?)

2)  Why does EB tax think I am using Canadian currency, even though we are not using Canadian currency?

      Just because we have Canadian taxation set up, does not mean we are using Canadian currency, but when running the tax simulator we have to change the currency to CAD in order to get it to function?  The system also seems to be creating tax lines with the tax currency code = CAD
