Check Printing - Vertical Alignment

I am new to Oracle and new to XML Publisher.  Our company set up a custom check template utilizing an existing RTF template that came installed with Oracle's payables solution.  I was able to align my XML template to print checks properly most of the time, however I am having a difficult time locking the vertical alignment of my check output.

For example,  my template prints properly onto my checks if I have only one address line. However, if I have a second address line for a suite number, the remittance (which is below the check) text gets pushed down by one additional line.  This throws my vertical alignment off for all data that is below my second address line.   How do I "lock" the vertical alignment of text on my XML templates/checks?

Howdy, Stranger!
