Moving Oracle E-Business Suite off Solaris and onto Microsoft Windows 2003
I have been tasked with finding out how to move our Oracle Financials 11.5.7 installation off Solaris 64-bit and onto a single Microsoft Windows Server 2003 32-bit . Currently we have a two tier installation - application server and seperate concurrent manager/database server with dedicated storage.
To achieve this I'm guessing I'll need to upgrade our existing installation to 11.5.10 including the database to 10g, implement shared APPL_TOP functionality and configure the application to run off a single server. Once this is done I guess I can then install 11.5.10 onto the Windows 2003 server and "export/import" the data.
I appreciate this is a rather simplistic view but I would like to here from those of you who have gone through a similar task. My company doesn't use financials anymore after migrating to SAP but still keeps this system as a reference which is why they would like to move it onto cheaper hardware.
