Client Patching

Hi,

I have recently installed Oracle 10g Database Server, the companion products, 10.2.0.4.0 patch set and database bundle 13 onto my database server.  I have now been tasked with installing Oracle 10g R2 client onto the associated application server. 

But what I'm not sure of is how far to patch the client.  Should I not patch it at all OR just apply the patch set OR go the whole way and apply the companion products, 10.2.0.4.0 patch set and database bundle 13.
