oracle transportable tablespace (TTS) import takes a long time
Hi, TTS experts,
I am migrating an Oracle database from another Unix to Sun Solaris, with the same endianness.
The bottlenecks are two fold:
(1) one is to transfer files
We tried all means. It turned out that ftp seemed to be the most efficient. If anything is better, a ftp with compression mode comes to mind. But many Unix's do not provide compressed ftp mode. Does anyone know of a good ftp daemon with compression ?

Remote system type is UNIX.
Using binary mode to transfer files.

We only support stream mode, sorry.

(2) import of TTS metadata takes too long,
