Hello Community,
running 2node RAC 10.2.0.2 on windows 2003 EE as primary database, physical standby (10.2.0.2) on windows 2003 EE (on a third node).
q: what is the "savest" way to move/patch this dataguard configuration to 10.2.0.4 (although cst is using RAC, downtime is not a concern/issue ?
my plan:
cancel recovery on standby + shutdown database.
shutdown primary instance awa asm, listener. all crs services
upgrade crs to 10.2.0.4 (both nodes)
upgrade oh to 10.2.0.4 (both nodes)
restart crs + other services
[if database is opened - automatic startup will fail (illegal bootstrap)]
startup upgrade on 1st node + catupgrd.sql
if OK ->
upgrade oh to 10.2.0.4 on standby
