Question on Upgrading with data pump

Hi
Was wondering  if you think this process should work.  I have 10.2.0.1 databases and i want to upgrade and patch .

Can i :

- On separate box, install oracle and upgrade to 10.2.0.4 then apply the cpu patches.

- create blank databases with DBCA matching tablespaces etc.

- bring over my databases using export data pump and full = y , import with full=y .

any thoughts would be appreciated.
