extreme waits for latch: session allocation, ksuprc and ksudlc

edited Apr 9, 2009 11:13PM in Database Tuning (MOSC) 2 commentsAnswered
During a stress test we experienced a very high number of short waits for the session alloocation latch. At the most, we over 30 % of Total call time (AWR report, Top 5 Timed events) were waits for this latch. Most of the latch miss sources were the modules ksuprc and ksudlc (50 % each).

In order to help us understand what is happening, it would be nice to know what these two modules do. I assume they belong to the kernel services layer.

The database version is 10.2.

Howdy, Stranger!
