ORA 27504 :ipc error creating OSD Context

Hi,

I'm trying to configure ASM using DBCA on a 2 node RAC running on Red Hat Linux 4.3.
I've successfully installed the Oracle 10gR2 Clusterware, & laid down oracle Software binaries on both the ASM_HOME & the ORACLE_HOME. I therefore have 3 Oracle homes in my system.
When i invoke dbca & provide all necessary params for the ASM instance creation, i get this error:

ORA 27504 :ipc error creating OSD Context.

I'e been unable to bypass this step & will be very grateful for any help.
