RMAN and Veritas NetBackup syncronization

 We are utilizing the NetBackup retention policies, and would like the ability to syncronize the RMAN catalog with the policy for purging of unavailable backups.  Has anyone done this before?  Not sure if we need to create an external job to handle this or if RMAN has the ability to work with NetBackup.
