Changing the approved plan type on a project

Hi

We need to change the approved plan type on our existing projects as a part of standardizing process across divisions of a company.

The projects already have baselined versions of the approved plan type so the system doesnt allow me to delete the existing approved plan type and hence I cannot add a new approved plan type.

Has anyone else faced this situation? Is there any workaround for this?
