Archive logs on NFS

Dear all,
I am trying to keep archive logs on nfs file system? Is it really supported? Anybody tried before? I am using oracle 10g and i am trying on standlone  database.

My configuration is

OS:Redhat 4 U7
Oracle:10g R2
NFS server:A redhat linux server
