Printer Driver Arguments

I am passing in the following parameters to our printer driver for our dot matrix check printer: 

lpr -P $PROFILES$.PRINTER -o PageSize=Custom.8.5x7in $PROFILES$.FILENAME 

If I run the above from the command line, the checks print and space properly.  If try to print the checks from Oracle Applications, NOTHING prints.  If I remove the -o PageSize-Custom.8.5x7in parameter, and run from the command line, the checks print but do not space properly.  If I then run from Oracle Apps, the checks also print (they did not print at all with the -o parameter) but do not space properly.
