Upgrading 9.2.0.8 to 10.2.0.3 - Dataguard Physical Standby

I am looking to upgrade our current 9.2.0.8 database to 10.2.0.3.
I have been reading
http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/server.102/b14239/upgrades.htm
What I do not understand is how the physical standby gets upgraded? Does it effectively do a rolling upgrade of the standby as the primary gets upgraded? Can someone point me to a document that might explain it a bit better? I have done standalone db upgrades but never one with dataguard and I don't want to miss anything.
Thank you
