RMAN-20011: target database incarnation is not current in recovery catalog

I got this error and would appreciate some advice .

We were moving databases to a new server and i did a full cold backup and copy to the new server. (windows)

For a while there were 2 servers identicle.  The new server had new databases and new repository and they were

being backed up.  Old server had its own repos and was being backed up.

I copied over old db to new db for the final data refresh , and it all started up fine. DBID etc is the same. Now we decommissioned the old server.

We dont need the old backups etc.
