Issue with receiving time-phased data into Microsoft Project (MSP)

We have been able to successfully send time-phased resource assignment data from MSP to Oracle into the weekly PA periods correctly.  

However, when we receive the project again from Oracle in order to replan (with or without progress collected), Oracle appears to send the time-phased data back, but MSP is spreading it using the default spread curve of "Flat".    Is there any setting in MSP that would allow us to receive the time-phased data from Oracle just like the way it was sent earlier?
