Setting up 10g Oracle Streams for offline data replication
We want to configure the Oracle Streams to replicate data from one database (main server at one geographical location) to another database (site server at another geographical location). We can’t do real time synchronization as the computer running the application (site server) is not connected to the main server therefore it cannot transfer LCRs on-line.
The site servers are actually the mobile server that come back to a networked location once a day at the end of the day. For now we are sending all the archive logs generated by the site server during the day from remote location to main server using WAN for processing archive logs at the main server location and posting data into main database using local streams at main server site. There are almost 300 site servers in different 8 different geographical locations and these all are sending their archive logs (about 300MB from each one) at almost the same time that is causing network to
