New accounting segment is required for new line of projects

Will it be possible. And if it is how to initialize the same.

We are having a single project type. Revenue for all the project hits to a single account. Now the requirement is, if we create a new project type for another line of projects, the revenue for those projects should be recognize in different account segment. We are having 7 senment of accounts, out of which the second should vary according to the requirement.
Currently the code for sales (for example) is: 229.195.1950000.1711000.0000.00000.000 The following string added as an option on sales is requested: 229.823.8230000.1711000.0000.00000.000Will it be possible. And if it is how to initialize the same.
