Update Existing Stock locators

Hi all, We have a serial controlled sub invenoty with locators and we have been transacting against these locators. Now we would like to update all existing locators with additional segment. But oracle didn't allowed me to update existing locators? is this intended functionality? or does oracle allow us to update existing locators?
