Would prefer not to use the new My Oracle Support
My experience with using My Oracle Support has not been good. I much prefer "Classic MetaLink". I recently attended the Collaborate conference in Orlando and I talked with the people from Oracle who were representing support. They told me to take my issues here. So, here they go:
- It is painfully slow
- Support does not use the information.
- I find the selections for problems and sub problems rarely match the issue for submitting an SR. I almost always go back to "Classic MetaLink" to submit an SR.
- I have installed OCM for almost all of my oracle homes and databases. I don't find much use in having done so. It is much more work than the benefit. Especially because support does not pay any attention to the information provided. Even when I am able to get an SR entered using "My Oracle Support" and have selected the system from the list, support still asks me what release I am on, am I on Linux or Windows.....They pay no attention to the information in the SR.
