RMAN - 2 questions about duplication and restoration

Hello,
Oracle 10g.
Target database PROD, server osprod
Future duplicated database DUP, server osdup

I have read in different documentations that a database duplication requires to connect to RMAN and launch the duplicate command FROM SERVER osprod.

But is it not possible to do same action FROM SERVER osdup?

Additionnal question: is it possible using RMAN to restore a database PROD on another server IMMEDIATELY with a new ORACLE_SID?
