Looking for some guidance on setting up and using inventory optimization.

Does ASCP have to be fully setup to utilize this application or is it a stand alone?

I am having a hard time finding good setup documents for either Advanced Supply Chain planning or Inventory Optimization.

Our main goal is to setup and utilize maintaining target inventory levels
