Lets try this again, i hit submit and it sat for 10 mins and never got submit so now i have to type this all over.

I have a database running on  server and i want to install a second database that runs independently of the first.

Some specs: i have windows 2003 server SE sp2 32bit running with an oracle db 10.2.0.3 SE on it currently.

Goal: is to install a second database 10.2.0.4 SE for some seperate applications

What I've done so far: Installed 10.2.0.1 oracle database software only to a new oracle home. Patched to 10.2.0.4. Created DB using DBCA.

1. First off if i want a second database do i have to install a second oracle home all the time? I know in this case i want it to run independently so i will have to but i am not sure if in the future i can just create a second database on an existing oracle home.

Howdy, Stranger!
