Common routing traceability

Does anyone know of a way that a common routing can be changed on a new Item# revision and still maintain the original revision common routing info for traceability?

Example- Item A, B, C, D, E use Common routing 1. Item C and E are having manufacturing
issues and needs slightly different routing and file attachments so C and E
require a new Common routing. If I revise routing revision # from 000 to 001 and try
to add a new common routing for Item# C and E revision 000 also shows the new
common routing. This loses all traceability to previously built
items.

Also does anyone know of std Oracle functionality that has Where used search for Common routings.

Howdy, Stranger!
