Database Backup and Recovery (MOSC)

NID-00131: Control file is not current

 I tried to create a duplicate database using RMAN. The database version is 10.2.0.4 on AIX 5L 64-bit and  I used RMAN to copy my production database on one server and reproduce it on another server.

After copying the backup files and archive log files to the auxilary server I issued the following from the production server:

[oracle@OracleAIX:/oracle/backup]$ rman target /

Recovery Manager: Release 10.2.0.4.0 - Production on Wed May 27 18:55:13 2009

connected to target database: EMS (DBID=3564077937)
 

RMAN> connect auxiliary sys/xxxxxxxxx@emsqa
 
connected to auxiliary database: EMSQA (not mounted)
 
RMAN> duplicate target database to emsqa pfile=/oracle/tmpinstall/data_guard/initemsqa.ora
