Question on RMAN Scenerios

  I am in the midst of implementing RMAN after using User Defined cold backups as my method for over ten years.  While most of RMAN seems straight forward, there are a couple of scenarios that I have in my mind that for which I cannot find answers.  

 

  1. I plan to use RMAN to for daily full backups to disk.  Not wanting to leave these backups on the disk for a long period, I want to save the RMAN backups on disk to tape using User Defined backup (before you ask that question, this is 10GR2 on Windows and I’m not going to Tar anything anywhere), then delete them from the disk.
