Restore and recovery Oracle database on the same host (Linux)

  Hi All, I'm new for Oracle so I need your guides on my questions below.

I want to test my backup and recovery procedures. I have an Oracle backup on Linux and I want to use this backup to restore and recover on the same host.

How can I do as its sid and service name are the same?

And how to restore on Windows if I have the backup taken on Linux?

I'm very pleased if you give me the steps to do it.
