Oracle R12 maintaining custom Country values in fnd_territories

in Human Capital Management - EBS (MOSC) Question
We have been trying to address missing values in the fnd_territories table using provided functionality to add custom values to the table, but are concerned with what happens to them when a future Oracle patch to update the table is run.

Does the patching process completely replace the table, effectively removing the custom values we have added, or will they survive any patching?

Any help gratefully received.
