 I installed this:
$ /home/oracle/orasw/app/oracle/product/oms10g/bin/emctl status em
Oracle Enterprise Manager 10g Release 10.2.0.1.0 
Copyright (c) 1996, 2005 Oracle Corporation.  All rights reserved.
Oracle 10g Application Server Control is running.

from a file named  gc_102011_linux.zip

The install created a db:

BANNER
----------------------------------------------------------------
Oracle Database 10g Enterprise Edition Release 10.1.0.4.0 - Prod
PL/SQL Release 10.1.0.4.0 - Production
CORE    10.1.0.4.0    Production
TNS for Linux: Version 10.1.0.4.0 - Production
NLSRTL Version 10.1.0.4.0 - Production

I want to get to patch to 10.2.0.5 gc and have 11.1.0.7 db. 

The readme that came with patchset for 10.2.0.5,
