migrate 10.2.0.4 database from 32 to 64bit, on EBS 12.0.6

My client has the current EBS architecture:
rel 12.0.6 dual node installation on a 32 bit Red Hat Enterprise Linux AS release 4 (Nahant Update 7) with database version 10.2.0.4; the node that hosts the database and concurrent manager has a 2.6.9-78.0.17.ELhugemem kernel (with sga locked in ram through the huge_pages feature etc).
The other node hosts mainly the webtier processes.
Applications and database are present on local scsi filesystems (we are talking about a 217 GB database).
He wants to eventually buy a new node, install a 64 bit kernel, and upgrade ONLY the database to 64bit.
