RMAN to disk media

I am looking to set up RMAN to perform backups on the database server and write the file sets to a disk media server.  Some of my databases are small, 5-10GB and some are 8-10 TB.  The network can handle the 5-10 GB dbs when performed at 1 AM but cannot handle the 8-10 TB at any time.  I was wondering what the best practices are for disk configurations when writing backups to disk that are on another physical server.

Some suggestions were to create a SAN LUN that would get presented to that db server so that we could use the fiber connections but that would mean that we have to do the servers serially and we have 50+ servers to backup per night.

Howdy, Stranger!
