Upgrade from 11.5.9 to 11.5.10.2 by fresh install of 11.5.10.2 and transfer data from 11.5.9

 We are upgrading from 11.5.9 to 11.5.10.2 (and database from 9.2.0.4 to 10.2.0.3) by first doing a fresh install of 11.5.10.2 on the 10g database and then transferring (migrating) the data from the 11.5.9 instance to the new 11.5.10.2 instance.

My question is

1. What is the best (recommended) method to transfer the data, export/import, APIs or some other method of data conversion?

2. Can someone suggest any documentation that can help guide us through the data transfer? Any info on export/import in EBS, avaialble APIs for data conversion, etc.
