Database migration from SunOS to AIX
Hi,
We need to migrate Oracle database (10.1.0.5), approximately 800 Gb in size from SunOS to AIX. In addition to that the new database has to be 11.1.0.7.
Our business does not want to give us much of downtime therefore exp/imp/datapump solutions are not feasible.
Does anyone knows any method of doing this ?
We think that 10.2 allows to use streams for database migration across platforms, but we are at 10.1.
Maybe this will work:
- logical standby from source db (10.1 on Sun) to intermideate db (10.2 on Sun)
- streams from intermideate db (10.2 on Sun) to target db (11.1 on IBM)
Any thoughts on this ? Anyone think this will/will not work ?
