expdp/impdp datapump queires...

 Hi,
Quick question.

Has anyone did or know the steps that i need to follow to do the following

1. create a dump of a local sever database to a remote server database using a  expdp data pump.
2. use a dump from a remote server database in importing to a local server database using a impdp data pump.

Do let me know if anyone have tried it and been successful, so that i can use it on my daily activities.
