Zabbix monitoring of alert.log permission problem

edited Jul 1, 2009 4:15PM in Database Administration (MOSC) 2 commentsAnswered
We want to monitor the alert logs of our databases using Zabbix on sun solaris and SLES. It looks like per default Oracle is allocating the alert.log files with 640 permission. This means that we either must add the user running  Zabbix to the dba group of the oracle or somehow assure that whenever a new alert.log is created, a chmod 644 is made. Both solutions have their drawbacks. Is there a way to force oracle to create the log's with 644 permission or has anybody a more elegant solution for our problem ?

Thank's for any help
