RMAN duplicate fails when using a proxy backup

 when trying to duplicate a database to another host using a proxy backup copy of the target database it fails with the following errors

RMAN-00571: ===========================================================
RMAN-00569: =============== ERROR MESSAGE STACK FOLLOWS ===============
RMAN-00571: ===========================================================
RMAN-03002: failure of Duplicate Db command at 01/05/2009 14:19:24
RMAN-03015: error occurred in stored script Memory Script
ORA-27204: skgfpqr: sbtpcqueryrestore returned error
ORA-19511: Error received from media manager layer, error text:
   pb_init() failed with: 3 (114:501:0)

Does RMAN allow duplicate using proxy copy ?
