RAC clone new server RMAN

 Hi - We have a need to refresh a pre-production version of our 10g RAC database 2 node from Prod

We use RMAN backups. Has anyone experience or documentation and restore to new lcoation of a RAC database under Oracle cluster control and ASM.

questions like do we take the database out of cluster control in pre-prod and then restore the production copy?

do we take the prod copy back to single instance and then rename from control file trace

do we then re-register

Can RMAN do all of this in a set of commands
