Partial unit asset assignment in 12.1.1

I heard through a support rep that partial unit assignment may be disabled in version 12.1.1.  Can somebody please confirm that this either is or isn't true?
Currently (12.0.6), I can assign decimal values of an asset to different expense accounts.  For instance I can assign .3 of an asset to balancing segment 100100 and .7 to 100300.  Does this functionality get disabled in 12.1.1 so I can only assign increments of 1 to each expense account?
