Attention: To align with new corporate security policies, and to match policies adopted by other communities within Oracle, the My Oracle Support Community access requirements will change beginning September 18, 2025. Substituting an item during pick release!

Hi,

Is there a way in Oracle 11.5.9 to make a setup to tell Oracle to substitute an item with another while

processing an Order? For ex: I am placing an order 1234 with item AA on it but when Oracle tries to pick release that

item AA it finds that there are not enough quantities so it backorders it. This is the standard functionality, but

what I want to achieve is, when Oracle finds out that AA is out of stock then I need to tell Oracle to chose another

item, say BB, instead of AA. Is this achievable? Right now we have a custom program that does this and we go about
