Password files

OK, this is weird.  I am running a 6 node RAC and the password files in the dbs directory (Linux RHEL 4.4, Oracle 10.2.0.3) seem strange.  The timestamps on the files on the first 3 nodes have been changed within the last day, while the remaining 3 have the date the database was created.  The system logs have been searched for orapwd being run, and it hasn't.

My question is what other Oracle processes might rewrite the password file?
