64-bit server hardware - Which would you choose: AMD vs Intel processors

If you were choosing a new server (e.g. brand new HP Proliant) to be a production virtual server, that would be hosting probably 4 to 6 VMs, each containing Oracle databases of 25-40GB each, mostly transaction processing with 30-50 users each, would you choose to go with AMD Opteron or Intel Xeon processors?
I am limited to 8 cores of CPU, by budget, due to the breathtaking cost of Oracle Enterprise Database licensing costs, so the new 6-core AMD chips are out of the question. I will be stuck with two 4-core chips, or four 2-core chips, and new 4P hardware with 2-core chips is getting increasingly difficult to locate.

Howdy, Stranger!
